All Directors

• I’m happy to report that approximately 75% of directors have submitted their seating charts, percussion list, and program info to Jacoba Iverson. Please send those materials to her ASAP if you haven’t done so yet (jacoba.iverson@ndsu.edu)
• A reminder that if you’re submitting photocopies of scores, please have the letter from the music store/distributor proving you’ve purchased them with those scores. Also, please have photocopies in a three-ring binder or coil/comb bound so they lay flat for the clinicians.
• It was immensely helpful last year to know your anticipated arrival and departure times. When you can, please write those times on the sheet linked below. It’s fine if you end up adjusting, run late, etc. If you need to round, please round earlier for your arrival time, and later for your departure time. This helps us potentially book multiple bands in the same case storage area if they don’t overlap.

• The instrument clinic schedule can be found at the link below. The schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday are set, but we’re still waiting to hear back from our instructors about Thursday and will fill those times in ASAP.

• We recently had a school cancel, so we’re reaching out to all of you to see if you know anyone (your feeder directors, a 2nd or 3rd band at your school, etc.) who would be interested in and able to perform at these times. Directors Attending NDSU (Tues/Wed)

• Lunch option update: Our West Dining Center (marked on the map I sent in my last email) will be available for visiting students, at $14 per person. If you’d like to have your band eat there, please send a message to Bill Law (bill.law@ndsu.edu) with your band name and number of people eating by the week before Raging Red.
• I apologize for having to make this minor change, but our parking people have asked us to have buses/trucks park at the Fargodome in “Dome E” rather than “Dome D”. Here's the updated map (it's linked in the Resources tab as well). The lots are right next to each other.

Dear Raging Red Participants:

Congratulations to all who have registered for our largest festival to date — 54 bands performing over three days at two sites. You and your students have made this event an amazing representation of the great teaching that is happening across the region. Through this link, you will find the adjudication form, and adjudicators for the 2026 Raging Red Festival. I have tried to accommodate as many of your requests as possible. Thank you to Daniel Lee, Bill Law and the NDSU Music Faculty for hosting the festival at NDSU. Special thanks to James Landman and Principal Ryan Salisbury of Sheyenne High School in West Fargo for hosting our 3rd full day.

Thank you to everyone for your cooperation in making a schedule that works. Directors are reminded that you must provide 3 numbered original scores the day of the Festival. If copies are used, they must be accompanied with a letter of permission from the publisher or proof that the scores have been purchased and are on backorder, and they must be bound by 3-hole punch in a binder, or another binding option that allows them to be laid flat (coil or comb bound). Please do not submit unbound photocopies, or photocopies that are stapled together.

Reminders: NDSU needs the following for BOTH performance sites by February 6th! Please email Jacoba Iverson at NDSU (jacoba.iverson@ndsu.edu) with the information requested below whether you are performing at NDSU or Sheyenne High School, West Fargo.

To help Jacoba, please ensure that all information is submitted as an attachment that can be downloaded and saved, not in the body of the email. Please send a separate email for each ensemble (list school and ensemble name in the subject line) with attachments of:

1. Program Info (including the name/composer/arranger for each piece, ensemble name, and director name). Program notes are optional.

2. Seating Chart (chairs/stands) – please use https://www.bgreco.net/band/ for this.

o Type in the ensemble name as the “Chart title”

o Use the “Notes” section to list additional stands (bass, percussion, etc.) or anything else related to chairs and stands.

o Send a pdf of this, not a link. You may also write directly on the pdf and send us a scan of that if you want to show specific setups.

3. Percussion needs (sticks and mallets will NOT be provided)

o Please include a text list of percussion needs, and a diagram of the setup. Hand drawn diagrams are fine as long as they are readable. These may be listed on one pdf/document, or can be submitted as separate documents.

As an additional teaching tool, you may review the rubric on the last page of this link. There is no designated rubric for the festival but this may aid in your preparation for any of your band’s performances. Information regarding bus parking and lunch options will be forthcoming from NDSU and Sheyenne High School, West Fargo. Additional information, such as your anticipated arrival and departure times, may also be requested closer to the event date.

The students, staff, and administration of the NDSU Music Department have been incredibly helpful over the years. We look forward to working with the students, staff, and administration of Sheyenne High School on the 3rd day of the Festival.
