Move-in day expectations
NDSU Residence Life has compiled a list of tips to help students and families have a smooth move-in experience. Move-in day is schedueld for Saturday, Aug. 20.

Move-in day at NDSU is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. NDSU Residence Life has compiled a list of things to help provide students and their families a smooth and successful move-in experience.

Start your journey

Turn off your GPS when you get to campus. Each residence hall has specific directions for location, unloading and parking. These can be found on the driving directions webpage. In August, you will receive a mailing to your permanent address that will provide an automobile dashboard sign with your hall’s name on it. Put that on your dashboard before you arrive to campus.

Arrival

Students: When you arrive to campus, proceed to your hall’s designated check-in location. Hall staff will provide you with your room key, student ID (if you don’t already have it), parking permit and check-in paperwork. Please bring a photo ID for this step.

Families: When you arrive, fully unload all your student’s belongings then designate a person to drive to your assigned parking lot. Parking permits are not required during move-in.

Do not leave your car unattended in the unloading area.

Move in: Students may then move in their belongings.

Pro-tips

Before getting to campus, label your items with your hall and room number. Break down cardboard boxes used during move-in and bring then to a designated recycling location.

Dine with us

Grab a bite to eat. Dining centers, the food court and coffee shops are open. For more information on the hours of operation, visit our dining center webpage. Five-day meal plan holders will have unlimited access to the dining centers for move-in weekend only. After that, five-day plans will return to Monday through Friday access.

Dining centers have a discounted lunch rate of $8 per person on Saturday for all friends and families.
