Pre-Registration Steps

Pre-Registration Step 1:
Complete the You Belong Here Online Orientation

The You Belong Here online orientation provides foundational information that will answer many questions about the NDSU community, student life, finances, academics, and more.

  • Completion is estimated to take one hour, and you may stop and return as often as you wish
  • You must select the Student Login option and use your Bison Login
  • You must submit the Completion Survey at the end of You Belong Here
  • Your family and friends may also complete You Belong Here by using the guest login option. This will help them be well-informed and involved in supporting your success.
Pre-Regisitration Step 2:
Complete the Math Placement Survey

The NDSU math placement survey determines which math course best matches your previous academic experiences.  All students must complete the survey even if they have math transfer credit.

  • The estimated completion time is 2 minutes
  • Use your Bison Login to access the survey
  • The survey does not replace official transcripts.  You will still need to send transcripts from colleges that awarded your college level credit.
Pre-Registration Step 3:
Complete the English Placement Survey

The NDSU English placement survey determines which English course best matches your previous academic experiences.  All students must complete the survey even if they have English transfer credit.

  • The estimated completion time is 10 minutes
  • Use your Bison Login to access the survey
  • The survey does not replace official transcripts.  You will still need to send transcripts from colleges that awarded your college level credit.
