Peltier Scholars Spotlight

Kellen Hansen
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

Can you tell us a little about your background? Any story that inspired you to choose this AgTech field?

I chose to go into agricultural and biosystems engineering because throughout my time working on a farm, I have come to really enjoy agriculture, so I decided to go into an agriculture related field.

What does receiving the Peltier Scholarship mean to you?

It means a lot to me because it shows me that people believe that I have what it takes to exceed here at NDSU, and in the future of agricultural technology.

How do you see the Peltier Institute helping students like you in the future?

I see the Peltier Institute helping students like me in the future by providing more opportunities for students here to learn and bring their own innovation to agriculture.

What are your future goals or career plans after graduation?

After graduation I plan to work for an agricultural machinery company. I would like to go be a testing engineer for agricultural implements like planters, plows, or headers.

What advice would you give to future students interested in agricultural technology?

Some advice I would give to future students interested in agricultural technology would be to take the extra opportunities that help you to grow within the field.
