Type Species: Rhaphigaster pallidoconspersus StDl, 1858, by original designation.

Tribal Placement: This genus has usually been considered to be closely related to the genus Nezara, the type genus of the Nezarini.

Comments: The species listed above have traditionally been treated as members of the genus Acrosternum.  True species of the genus Acrosternum, however, are smaller, pale green in color, and live in dry, arid regions of the Old World.  Members of the genus Chinavia are larger, more deeply and richly green in color, and live in temperate or tropical area of both the Old and New Worlds.
