Jeremy E. Guinn

United Tribes Technical College, Director of the Intertribal Research & Resource Center

Dr. Guinn is a Director of the Intertribal Research & Resource Center (IRRC) at United Tribes Technical College. He has served as faculty, department chair, and center director for 20 years. Between July 2020 and July 2023, he was a rotator with the National Science Foundation (EES/EDU), serving programs including TCUP, HBCU-UP, BCSER (Building Capacity for STEM Education Research), Understanding the Rules of Life, and ExpandAI. He is a tribal college graduate. After receiving his BS Biology from Bridgewater College, MS Biology from Western Illinois University, and PhD Zoology from North Dakota State University, he received an AA Native American Studies degree from Sitting Bull College. His research interests include traditional animal food populations, ecology and physiology of seasonal color change in organisms, and impacts of undergraduate research experiences on student learning. Much of his career has been in integrating research in STEM courses and STEM programs. His work with American Indian students in STEM has been recognized by national organizations such as AIHEC (American Indian Higher Education Consortium) and The Wildlife Society.
