Drama Day at Theatre NDSU
Wednesday, October 21, 2026 | 8:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | NDSU Askanase Hall
Attention high school students and teachers! We are pleased to invite you to attend Theatre NDSU's annual Drama Day later this fall semester.
NDSU Drama Day will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. This year we will be performing Ride the Cyclone, a musical by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, as part of our Drama Day experience.
Drama Day is a free event open to all theatre students and teachers and a great opportunity for your students to participate in a theatre workshop, see a production, and get a taste of what it might be like to major in theatre at NDSU. It's also an opportunity for you to (hopefully) take a breather while we (hopefully) entertain your students.
This year’s Drama Day will include:
- Workshops for future theatre students
- A performance of Ride the Cyclone, by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, followed by a brief talk-back with the actors and student designers and a brief college search session. Please note: This production contains some mature humor and content – including coarse language, sexual references, casual drug use, fantasy violence, and explorations of death – that is best suited for audiences age 13 and up.
- The opportunity to spend lunch with engaging current students from NDSU Theatre. Your students may bring money to purchase lunch at the Memorial Union or may bring lunch from home.
Drama Day Schedule:
| Time | Activity |
|---|---|
| 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. | Check-in and Welcome in Askanase Auditorium |
| 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. | Concurrent Theatre Workshops |

| 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. | Lunch on campus* |
*Participants will need to bring money to purchase lunch at the NDSU dining center. You are also welcome to pack a lunch.
We understand that school schedules may not allow enough time during the day for this event. This year we’re offering a couple of alternative options to help accommodate if your group can’t make the whole day:
- Schools may decide to take part in the whole event or just part of it (either workshops or matinee).
- Individual students may register if the school group can’t attend as a whole.
Please fill out the registration form below to confirm your attendance, including the number of attendees, by Monday, October 5, 2026. This will assist us in our planning. Participants must register to attend.
