NDSU students who receive a scholarship through the Barry Scholarship Program are eligible for this recognition.
Students receiving the recognition are awarded up to $5,000 per academic year. The value of your NDSU Barry Scholar Recognition will be awarded by combining all NDSU scholarships you have been offered. If your total NDSU scholarships is less than the Barry Foundation Scholarship or PaY Forward Scholarship, students will receive an additional Barry Scholar Recognition Award to make up the difference, up to the $5,000 maximum.
Students will receive up to $5,000 in NDSU scholarships to match the amount of the Barry Foundation Scholarship or PaY Forward Scholarship. All scholarships students receive from NDSU will be included in this match. If the total amount of NDSU scholarships is less than the Barry Foundation Scholarship or PaY Forward Scholarship, students will be awarded an additional Barry Scholar Recognition Award to make up the difference.
All recipients must abide by the conditions and requirements outlined in their Barry Scholarship Program Acceptance Agreement and:
Enroll full-time (12+ credits) each fall and spring semester
Maintain a 2.5 GPA at NDSU each year
If the total of existing NDSU scholarshipsis less than the Barry Foundation Scholarship or PaY Forward Scholarship, NDSU will add the Barry Scholar Recognition Award to the student’s financial aid package by the end of August to make up the difference.
If the total of existing NDSU scholarships is more or exceeds the Barry Foundation Scholarship or PaY Forward Scholarship, students will not see an additional recognition award in their financial aid package, since the match has already been met with other NDSU scholarships.
Barry Scholars are eligible for the NDSU Barry Scholar Recognition for up to four years (fall and spring semesters). PaY Forward Scholarship recipients are eligible for one year. Yearly amounts may vary each semester or year depending on other NDSU scholarships students receive.
