The B4U Mentorship Program at North Dakota State University connects early-career students in science, technology, engineering, and agriculture with industry professionals through meaningful one-on-one mentorship experiences. The program is designed to help students explore career pathways, build professional networks, and gain valuable insights into real-world challenges and innovations.

Through a partnership with Bayer Crop Science, participants are paired with experienced professionals who provide guidance on career development, leadership, communication, and industry trends. Students benefit from personalized mentoring sessions, networking opportunities, and exposure to cutting-edge research and technology.

The inaugural NDSU B4U cohort launched in 2025 and provided students with direct access to Bayer scientists, engineers, and industry leaders. Participants also visited Bayer’s global headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, where they experienced the company’s culture of innovation and attended professional development workshops.

The program is open to motivated students interested in fields such as:

  • Plant Breeding
  • Gene Editing and Biotechnology
  • Crop Physiology
  • Chemistry
  • Environmental Science
  • Engineering
