Summary

Stacy can be found in her office on the 5th floor and at various recruiting events. She ensures that all architecture and landscape architecture students will graduate on time by meeting with individual students througout each semester. Stacy also helps out with student orientation and the second-year admission process.

Who are your role models or inspiring folks?

I would have to say my mom.  She was the most caring and compassionate person I have ever known.  She was someone who even though she suffered from an Illness, it didn’t stop her from being kind to others.  She was someone who constantly told me that you don’t know what an individual is going though, so all you can do is listen and be there and support them. 

Outside of art and design fields, what inspires you?

My family.  I have an amazing husband who will always be there if someone needs something.  He was an amazing scout leader and wonderful role model for the young boys in his troop.  I am constantly inspired by my kids.  They make me want to be a better person.  I work hard to be the kind of mom my kids need and who they can be proud of.  They are constantly impressing me with the things that they do so I try and do the same.

What do you wish you had known when you started out as a student/in this field?

That each student is an individual with individual needs.  What works for one doesn’t always work for another.  I didn’t realize how much of my job was just to listen and be there for them.  Sometimes there isn’t anything I can do, but just give them a safe place.
