100 Year Monument

100 Year Monument
On April 16, 2016, numerous ROTC Alumni, campus personalities, and community leaders gathered with the current cadets for the unveiling of the 100-Year Monument. The ceremony was one part of a long Celebration of Army ROTC's history here at NDSU. It also included a joint run with Junior ROTC Cadets and Senior ROTC cadets, a luncheon, and public presentations.
NDSU's library partook in the celebration by setting up a public display in the library's entryway for a month full of readings, artifacts, and photos from across Army ROTC's history. On April 19, 2016, LTC Ted Preister, PMS, gave a speech to the general public about the intertwined history of ROTC and NDSU's campus. Again, many campus personality and public personnel attended this event.
This year marks the 100th year of ROTC being a sanctioned organization, despite NDSU producing officers since 1892. Across the country, many schools are hosting similar events celebrating 100 years of excellence.
There are future plans to add tablets around the monument with the names of all Alumnus from our program; if you or your class wishes to donate, please contact us and we will gladly assist you in the manner that will be best for you.
