Everything starts with a line.
The app on your phone, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the spaces you live in, the way you experience entertainment, each begins as an idea brought to life by an artist or designer.
Art and design are everywhere. They shape how we move through and understand the world. At NDSU Visual Arts, we work one-on-one with students to build a program that reflects their interests, strengths and goals, preparing them for a successful next step after graduation. Whether your path is Graphic Design, Illustration, Advertising Design, Studio Practice or Art Education, there is a place for your talent, and we’ll help you find it.
You’ll be challenged in an inspiring, supportive environment with dedicated faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. You’ll push your creativity further than you thought possible, spend late nights in the studio perfecting your work, and build lasting connections with peers, visiting artists and mentors. You’ll leave not only with skills and experience, but with a creative community that stays with you as you move forward as a designer or artist.
