Formal synergy discussion facilitation

CEMER seeks to support synergy between emergency management practice and education and emergency management practice and research in countless ways. Examples of current synergy efforts include:

  • Coordination of a theory and research special interest group in which anyone--scholar, student, and practitioner--can participate to discuss and learn about emergency management theory and research issues. Register to be part of the group, and, hence, to get information about its activities, at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EMTheoryandResearch
  • Sponsoring of a synergy listserv that anyone--scholar, student, and practitioner--can join by emailing ndsu.cemer@ndsu.edu . The purpose of the listserv is to connect practitioners and academics so that they might ask questions of one another, share stories of synergy success where it is found, and share resources.
  • Collaborating with the National Emergency Training Center Library to develop its database into the most comprehensive, free search engine for locating hazard and hazard event related research.
  • Facilitating conversations formally at conferences and webinars and informally in small groups on the topic of synergy and issues related to it.

Student Focused. Land Grant. Research University.
