Brian Johnson
Brian Johnson dedicated over 40 years to the manufacturing industry, making significant contributions in Research and Development, Manufacturing, Process Design, Startups, and Senior Leadership. After graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from North Dakota State University (NDSU), Brian began his career with a small Sealy company in Phoenix, AZ, where he gained experience in multiple disciplines, including R&D, Sales, and Manufacturing.
He later moved to Warroad, MN, to join Marvin Windows and Doors as an Industrial Engineer. After seven years, he transitioned from leading a team of 10 manufacturing engineers to spearheading the development of a new product line in Fargo, ND—Integrity Windows—utilizing advanced pultruded fiberglass technology. Over the years, Brian rose to serve as Vice President of Operations for the Marvin Companies, overseeing R&D, Composite Products, and Window and Door Manufacturing.
In addition to his professional achievements, Brian earned an Executive MBA from St. Thomas University in Minneapolis, MN, while continuing to work full-time. He also served as a valued member of the IME advisory board for over two decades, offering guidance and mentorship to the next generation of engineers.
Brian most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations Strategy for the Marvin Companies, where he played a key role in strategic growth initiatives, plant expansions, enterprise capital planning, and project management.
Brian’s passion for innovation, leadership, and mentorship left a lasting impact on his colleagues, the industry, and the academic community.
