Clint Rossland

Clint Rossland, a 2003 graduate of NDSU’s Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering program, has built a distinguished career in healthcare process improvement while remaining actively engaged with the IME Department and his community. He began his career as a Business Advisor at Dakota Manufacturing Extension Partnership, helping regional companies improve operations and implement lean manufacturing practices. His expertise later led him to Sanford Health, where he has excelled as a Health Systems Engineer. In this role, Clint has played a key part in facility planning, workflow optimization, and applying Lean and Six Sigma methods to enhance patient care. One of his most impactful projects involved supporting the design and planning of the $494 million Sanford Fargo Medical Center, a significant healthcare investment for the region.

In addition to his professional success, Clint has shown deep commitment to education. Since 2020, he has served as an adjunct professor in the IME Department, teaching Hospital Management Engineering as well as Facility Design and Introduction to IME. His courses are known for being highly practical and engaging, enriched by guest speakers, real-world projects, and facility tours. Students consistently value his industry experience and hands-on teaching style, frequently citing his classes among the most impactful in their academic careers.

Clint has also been a dedicated member of the IME Advisory Board since 2007, serving as chair for several years. In this role, he has contributed valuable industry insight, mentored students, and supported program development through involvement in capstone evaluations and strategic planning. His leadership has helped the department remain closely aligned with evolving industry needs and trends.

Outside of his professional and university roles, Clint is deeply committed to his community. He has volunteered extensively with Moorhead Schools, serving on multiple committees and leading the referendum campaign for a new high school, reflecting his desire to positively impact public education at a local level.

Clint’s dedication to continuous improvement, mentorship, and public service exemplifies the values of the IME Department and serves as an inspiring model for future generations of industrial engineers.
