Learning about the language we use every day
The Experimental Cognition and Language (ExCL) Lab is a cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics lab studying language comprehension in diverse populations. We are especially interested in questions of figurative language, ambiguity, multiword phrase processing, and world knowledge, and conduct our research in college-aged adults, older adults, and people with aphasia. We use a range of converging behavioral methods in our research, including eyetracking, self-paced reading, priming, and self-report measures.
