How do children learn to talk? How do we understand what other people say? We’re trying to find out!
We use a variety of methods to uncover the mechanisms underlying children’s ability to learn language quickly and adults’ ability to process the language that they hear. We are especially interested in the question of how these abilities are affected by ambiguity, such as words with multiple meanings, as well as how learning and processing of language are impacted by people’s experiences.
