Graduate with Experience, Expertise & Mentorship

NDSU's Department of Mathematics is a research-oriented unit featuring 15 full-time faculty members and 33 graduate students. Our outstanding student-faculty ratio provides a supportive environment where graduate students have meaningful, regular interactions with faculty. We offer doctoral and master's degrees that require a broad foundation in mathematics combined with an intense research experience where students work on the front-line of mathematical research.

Our faculty members are recognized researchers in the areas of algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, combinatorics, geometry, mathematics education and topology. At NDSU, graduate students gain important teaching experience with extensive professional development opportunities so our graduates are teacher-scholars prepared for both academic and non-academic positions.
