University Collections

NDSU is home to more than 15+ collections containing over one million objects, specimens, artworks and archival materials. These collections support research, teaching, preservation and discovery across campus. From ornithology and entomology to historic costumes, contemporary art, and archives, each collection offers unique opportunities to explore the natural world, human history and scientific innovation.

As a Carnegie R1 university, NDSU is recognized for its very high research activity. Our collections play an important role in supporting that research and enriching the student experience.
