Home to North Dakota's Only Waterfall

The state forest is bisected by 4 miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail, the nation's longest National Scenic Trail. The forest offers spectacular views of the Sheyenne River Valley and boasts the state's only waterfall and a mineral spring. Common trees found in the forest include bur oak, quaking aspen, basswood, ironwood, and green ash.
