Stop the Bleed: Empowering North Dakota Rural Communities

The purpose of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Health and Safety Education program is to reduce the number of deaths caused by unintentional injury in rural North Dakota (ND) by providing Stop the Bleed (STB) training. This will be achieved by the following objectives:

  1. Educate rural North Dakotans about their susceptibility to life threatening bleeds (LTB) and the benefits of learning STB skills;
  2. Increase participant confidence to intervene during a life-threatening bleed;
  3. Increase participant knowledge on hemorrhage control techniques;
  4. Expand the availability of high-quality STB kits and medical devices designed to control severe bleeding.
