About the NDSU Division of Performing Arts
The Division of Performing Arts at North Dakota State University promotes the arts through its educational programs, creative work, outreach activities, and performances. It consists of the Challey School of Music and the Department of Theatre Arts.

Challey Hall
Home of the Challey School of Music
Challey Hall (formerly known as the Reineke Fine Arts Center) serves as the hub for NDSU's music education and programming, as well as the home for the NDSU Performing Arts Main Office in Room 115. Throughout the year, the Challey School of Music hosts a wide range of performances, including concerts, recitals, and theatrical and opera performances in our premier concert facilities, Festival Concert Hall and Beckwith Recital Hall. All events are open to the public and many are free of charge.

Askanase Hall
Home of NDSU Theatre Arts
Askanase Hall is the home to the Department of Theatre Arts at North Dakota State University, also known as "Theatre NDSU." In addition to classrooms and studios, Askanase Hall contains the two main spaces where the department performs its theatrical productions: Askanase Auditorium and Walsh Studio Theatre (a.k.a. the black box theatre). Theatre NDSU performs 3-4 quality productions per year and collaborates with the Challey School of Music on a large-scale musical every other year.
