Public Health Certificates

Admissions requirements for the certificate programs, in addition to Graduate School requirements, include: 

  • Letter of intent
  • Official transcripts
  • 3.0 GPA for undergraduate and any graduate coursework
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation
  • English Language test scores meet minimum for public health program

Choose from three options
American Indian Public Health option

The American Indian Public Health option includes the following 9 credits and can also be completed in one academic year.

  • PH 704 Public Health Management and Policy (3 credits) - Tuesdays 5pm (Fall)
  • PH 772 American Indian Health Equity (3 credits) – Thursdays 5pm (Spring)
  • PH 774 Research and Evaluation in Tribal Communities (3 credits) – Wednesdays 5pm (Fall)
General Public Health option

The General option includes the following 12 credits and can be completed in one academic year.

  • PH 704 Public Health Management and Policy  (3 credits) - Tuesdays 5pm (Fall)
  • PH 706 Essential of Epidemiology (3 credits) - Mondays 5pm (Spring)
  • PH 741 Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health (3 credits) - Wednesdays 5pm (Fall)
  • PH 745 Community Health Leadership (3 credits) - Tuesdays 5pm (Spring)
Infection Prevention option

The Infection Prevention option includes the following 12 required credits.

  • PH 704 Public Health Management and Policy (3 credits) - Tuesdays 5pm (Fall)
  • PH 706 Essentials of Epidemiology (3 credits) - Mondays 5pm (Spring)
  • PH 735 Principles of Infectious Diseases I (3 credits) - Wednesdays 5pm (Fall)
  • PH 736 Principles of Infectious Diseases II (3 credits) - Wednesdays 5pm (Spring)
