Graduate Programs in Statistics
The Department of Statistics offers graduate studies leading to a Master of Science (M.S.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in applied statistics. Students engage with real-world problems through practicum courses, preparing graduates to be nationally competitive and highly marketable. Programs are flexible, allowing students to tailor their studies based on prior experience and professional goals.
In the first year, students are encouraged to meet individually with faculty to explore research topics and select an advisory and examining committee by the end of the year.
Additional options include a joint master’s degree in Computer Science and Statistics (Data Science), as well as graduate certificates in Statistics for Non-Majors and Big Data Applied Statistical Analysis.
