Cantlon Allies
The Committee may make distributions to cover the costs of the Cleo Cantlon Ally Award. In 2016, the Women and Gender Studies program, in conjunction with the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (AHSS), created the Cleo Cantlon Ally Award to honor Cleo for her contributions to the NDSU Women and Gender Studies program, as well as to honor faculty, staff, and graduate students who are allies of the program.
In order to become a “Cantlon Ally,” a faculty, staff, or graduate student must be invited by the Women and Gender Studies Advisory Board to apply using an AHSS application.
- Teach a class in, or be cross-listed with, the WGS program or undertake research or grants-related collaboration with members of the WGS program.
- Provide regular service to the WGS program, such as assisting with programming, curriculum discussions; goal setting, etc.
- Act as a mentor or advisor to WGS program undergraduate students on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in other activities deemed appropriate by the WGS program.
The Women and Gender Studies Advisory Board will make decisions about faculty, staff, and graduate student allies to be named and celebrated as "WGS Cantlon Allies."
