Elizabeth Carlson, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Political Science


Elizabeth Carlson is a scholar for the Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth and an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy at North Dakota State University. She specializes in political behavior, public opinion and survey methods, lab and field experimentation, and the political economy of development in Africa. She teaches undergraduate courses on global policy issues, politics in developing countries, and governance and government accountability, and she teaches graduate courses in the Master of Public Policy program. She is the founding organizer of Data-Driven Development in Africa and occasional host of Behavioral Models of Politics.
