Sarah Bosch has been named Outstanding Graduate by NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health in Bismarck, North Dakota for Fall 2023.
The Bismarck native has been passionate about helping others from a young age. “Nursing seems to run in my family. My maternal grandmother, two of my aunts, and two of my cousins have all pursued careers in nursing,” said Bosch. “I have always known I wanted to help others. Hearing how my family members impacted their patients solidified that I wanted to follow in their footsteps,” said Bosch.
“Sarah was chosen as the Outstanding Graduate because of her exceptional achievement in both the classroom and clinical setting, leadership and involvement in the school, and her commitment to the nursing profession,” said Charys Kunkel, director of NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health.
During her time as a student, Bosch served as president of Bismarck’s Nursing Student Association and the secretary of the Nursing Student Association of North Dakota. She also served as an academic tutor and member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society in nursing.
She credits NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health for preparing her for her future career. “I am so thankful for my nursing faculty,” said Bosch. “Hands-on learning activities and innovative teaching methods ensure that every student can succeed in the classroom. Didactic lectures and diverse clinical experiences have strengthened my confidence and prepared me to bridge the gap between student and practicing nurse.”
Bosch will begin her nursing career in oncology at Sanford Health in Bismarck. “Oncology holds a special place in my heart as I have had several close family members and friends receive a diagnosis of cancer. I hope to make a difference in patients’ lives despite the challenges they are walking through,” said Bosch.
NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health will honor its Class of December 2023 at a Nurse Pinning Ceremony on Friday, December 8 at 1 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center.
NDSU School of Nursing offers multiple in-person and online paths for those who want to pursue or advance their nursing careers through programs that include Pre-Licensure BSN, Accelerated BSN, online RN to BSN, online blended LPN to BSN, and DNP/Family Nurse Practitioner degrees.
