Summary

Dr. Miller is the North Dakota State Epidemiologist located in the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH). Dr. Miller serves as the Section Chief for the Office of the State Epidemiologist (OSE). The OSE provides epidemiology support to the chronic disease, cancer, maternal child health, special health services, injury, and infectious disease programs, as well as emergency preparedness and EMS. Dr. Miller has more than 20 years of infectious disease experience. She currently collaborates with others in the department to help improve informatics functions throughout the department and to provide data and reporting on opioid use, suicides, and health equity concerns. Dr. Miller is also the department’s IRB administrator.

During her 20+ years with the health department, Dr. Miller has written multiple abstracts and journal articles, given poster and oral presentations, and helped develop data policies and procedures. She currently serves as the lead for the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists’ (CSTE) Surveillance Policy Subcommittee. Dr. Miller has been employed with the NDDoH since 1998.
