Grant
Grant
NDSU Student Government officially sponsors funds to promote and implement open education resources as the replacement for conventional textbooks in courses. Grants are available for any NDSU faculty member or department in order to assist with any extra work required for the transfer to open educational resources in your class.
Why
Our mission is to implement, enhance, and sustain open educational resources and open access textbooks at NDSU as effectively and efficiently as possible. The grant is to accomplish these very goals. We believe that a professors time is important, therefore we believe that compensation for work to switch to an open educational resource is important. We are looking for ambitious, dedicated, and hardworking faculty who are dedicated to the cause of reducing the cost of textbooks and making education more affordable and attainable.
How
To be eligible for a grant, you will need to fill out the Educational Grant Proposal form (Located in the quick link) and submit it to the Student Government Executive Commissioner of Academics and Student Affairs. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email a member of Student Government to receive assistance. After this, it will be reviewed by members of the Open Resources Board for approval.
