Swine Research and Teaching Barn Expansion Open House

Join Us

Celebrate the completion of a 600‑head finishing expansion at NDSU’s farrow‑to‑finish swine research and teaching barn.

Join us for an open house and guided look at the new expansion—before the barn is filled. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the facility, learn more about NDSU’s swine production program, and hear directly from faculty about current and upcoming research projects.

This event is free and open to the public. Complimentary lunch will be provided.

Event Schedule

10-11 a.m. – Open House

11 a.m.-noon – Lunch catered by NDSU’s Carnivore Catering

Noon-2 p.m. – Presentations

2-3 p.m. – Questions, Closing Remarks and Guided Tours

3-4 p.m. – Family Time: A special opportunity for kids (ages 5+) and their parents to explore the empty barn and enjoy interactive, kid‑friendly activities.

Biosecurity Notice

The portion of the barn open to guests is brand new and has never housed pigs.

  • No downtime is required to attend this event.
  • The new expansion will be fully sealed off from the existing barn.

Parking and Entrance Information

  • Parking: Grass areas surrounding the outside of the barn
  • Entrance: East side of the barn
  • Signage: Look for signs to guide the way
