Fruit, Vegetable, and Woody Plant Field Day
The North Dakota State University Department of Plant Sciences will host a fruit, vegetable, and woody plant field day on Thursday, September 10, 2026 in the afternoon at the NDSU Horticulture Research Farm and Arboretum near Amenia, North Dakota.
The field day will include presentations on grapes, high tunnel onions and leeks, apples, raspberries, hydromulches in horticulture and woody plant breeding research.
Register by Sept. 8 to secure a boxed dinner.
Getting there:
From Interstate 94, take Wheatland exit 324 onto Cass County Road 5 and head north toward Wheatland. The road curves to meet Cass County 10 (35th St SE) shortly after passing through Wheatland. At that stop sign, turn north onto County 10. Follow the curve to the west, then turn right and head north, continuing on Cass County 5 (148th Ave SE, a paved road). At the Absaraka intersection (Cass County 5 and 30th St SE, marked with Absaraka turn sign), turn right. Continue east until you reach the first left (section line) and turn left (149th Ave SE) and head north. Continue north until you reach the first left (section line) and turn left (29th St SE). This road is marked with a sign that says “Minimal Maintenance Road.” The arboretum is down this road on the left.
