Consultations

Center for Writers consultants serve the full NDSU community—undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff—through 1-hour, one-on-one appointments. Come at any stage of your writing process: brainstorming, developing and organizing ideas, revising, editing, or responding to feedback. We read your work closely and with an open mind, offer options for strengthening content and style, and prioritize your growth as a writer and as a reflective, independent editor. We’re not a proofreading service, though we often address sentence-level concerns as part of improving the whole text.

Our consultants are trained undergraduate and graduate writers at NDSU. They’re skilled listeners and careful readers grounded in principles of rhetoric and writing, and they collaborate as a community with broad experience across academic fields. We can help you plan complex projects and set up repeat appointments for extended work.

The Writing Group schedule is also available for anyone who wants to join a weekly facilitated writing group.
