The Human Factors Engineering Lab at NDSU uses scientific ergonomics methodology with partnership with industry to solve complex human factors and work-related issues to Increase productivity, reduce fatigue, reduce accidents and injuries, increased workers morale and job satisfaction, and improve overall work quality.

Teaching Focus: Product Design, Carpal Tunnel Prevention, Operator’s Interface, Physical Activity, Controls and Displays, Mental Activity and Workload, Sound and Noise, Heat and Cold, Vibration and Noise.

Research Focus: Physical and Cognitive Performance Under Stress, Situational Awareness, Physical Capability Measurement.
