Services

NDSU Marketing and Communications protects and strengthens the university’s image for prospective students, current students and other supporters through high-quality materials and services.

The office provides professional writing, editing, photography, video, design and coordination of printing for a wide range of campus clients.

Things to know before you submit

  • Audience: Who you want to reach (prospective students, donors, campus, community, etc.)
  • Goal: What you want them to know or do (attend NDSU, support their experience, join an event, etc.)
  • Timing: Please allow four to six weeks for writing, design, production and printing. Larger projects take longer, so advance notice is important to balance requests across campus and departmental workflows. Requests that do not follow the suggested time frame may not be accommodated.
  • Quantity: How many you need (if printing)
  • Budget: Our services are free, but printing costs are the client’s responsibility. For projects costing more than $10,000, a purchase requisition must be submitted to the NDSU Purchasing Office. View their forms page.
  • Content and editing: Please proofread your content and ensure it has the necessary approvals before submission. This helps avoid multiple rounds of editing once design work has begun. Content provided to our office will be edited per Associated Press (AP) style. If you would like assistance with writing, please let us know.
  • Design: Per NDSU branding standards, our team will maintain creative independence in design while accommodating your request. You will be asked to approve the design before it goes to print.

We prioritize our efforts based on the audience’s importance to the university, the scope or mission of the project and the time frame.

Submit your project via the Project Request Form.

Program Page Updates

These forms are for requesting changes to current undergraduate or graduate program pages on ndsu.edu/programs.

Please work with your Web Principal to determine and prepare your updates and have them submit the appropriate form. All submissions will be reviewed to ensure they align with NDSU’s brand, voice and writing standards, and that the content remains focused on the needs of our prospective student audience, before going through our internal review process.

Choose the correct form below — undergraduate and graduate pages have different requirements. If you’re updating more than one program, please submit a separate form for each.

If you need a new program page created for a program that has gone through the official academic governance and approval process, please work with your Web Principal and then fill out the Web Consult Request Form to begin the process.
