Analysis and Geometry Seminar

Organizer: Dr. María Alfonseca-Cubero
Seminar Information

Azer Akhmedov

Professor
Ph.D.: Yale University, 2004
Geometric Group Theory
Email:azer.akhmedov@ndsu.edu
Office: Minard 408E16

Research interests: Akhmedov's research focuses on geometric aspects of groups and the dynamics of group actions. He mainly studies subgroups of Lie groups and the diffeomorphism groups of manifolds of small dimension.

Josef Dorfmeister

Associate Professor
Ph.D.: University of Minnesota, 2009
Symplectic Topology
Email:josef.dorfmeister@ndsu.edu
Office: Minard 406E

Research interests: Dorfmeister studies symplectic 4-manifolds and low-dimensional topology. His research uses pseudoholomorphic curve techniques, symplectic genus, inflation and other tools from symplectic topology.
