Indian classical musician to perform at NDSU

Fans of Indian classical and Bengali art music will get a chance to hear one of the genre’s leading vocalists at NDSU.

“A Musical Evening with Sounak Chattopadhyay” is scheduled Friday, Oct. 4, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall.

In a career spanning more than 12 years, Sounak Chattopadhyay has blended Indian classical music, Rabindrasangeet and other forms of light classical and Bengali art music in performances throughout his native India and the world. In addition to NDSU, his current tour includes performances in Raleigh, N.C.; Austin, Texas; Tampa, Fla.; Atlanta and Los Angeles.
