NDSU Development Foundation/Alumni Association add staff

The NDSU Development Foundation and Alumni Association have announced the addition of several staff members.

Josh Andres joined the organization as controller. He most recently was a senior audit associate for Eide Bailly in Fargo, where he worked with not-for-profit, health care and benefit plan clients. He specialized in financial reporting, internal control and compliance, and financing transactions during his nine years with the firm.

Andres is a 2005 NDSU graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He lives in Barnesville, Minnesota.

Sera Axtman was hired for the new position of donor relations coordinator. She is a graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College and also has a degree in desktop publishing and design.

Axtman founded, owned and was the marketing manager at Angel Cups in Fargo, where she was responsible for creating the daily menu of more than 100 different cupcakes. Axtman managed social media and marketing for Angel Cups.

Kelly Brekke was hired as event and program coordinator. She most recently was community development manager for the Arthritis Foundation Upper Midwest Region, planning and managing events and health promotion programs. She previously planned and organized all the state competitions as program coordinator for Special Olympics Colorado. Brekke has more than 10 years experience in event planning, volunteer management and fundraising.

Brekke is a University of Northern Colorado graduate, majoring in therapeutic recreation. She and her husband, Jeremy, an NDSU associate professor of music, live in Fargo.
