Mascot Challenge raises funds for Salvation Army

SHARE

The intercollegiate athletic departments at Concordia College, Minnesota State University Moorhead and NDSU raised more than $900 for the Salvation Army of Fargo-Moorhead during the holiday season.

Thundar from NDSU, Scorch the Dragon from MSUM and The Kernel from Concordia competed against each other in the Mascot Challenge on Dec. 29 at West Acres Shopping Center. Each mascot rang the bell, encouraging people to donate into the kettle. Scorch the Dragon won the Mascot Challenge by raising $403.

"Thanks so much to you all for partnering with The Salvation Army at the kettles. We are blessed by your support of our ministry," said Gerri Leach, community relations director for the Salvation Army.

All funds raised will be used to help meet the needs of families and individuals in Cass and Clay counties during the year ahead.
