NDSU will host a presentation by transgender activist and entrepreneur Aydian Dowling as one the featured events during LGBTQ Pride Month. Dowling's presentation is scheduled Monday, Oct. 19, from 7-8 p.m. in the Memorial Union Century Theater.

Dowling, who is from Long Island, New York, is the founder of Point5cc, a clothing line that caters to the fashion needs of transgender men and women. In 2009, he launched ALionsFears, a Youtube LGBT channel. In addition, he and his wife, Jenilee, appeared on the Emmy-nominated MTV special, "It Gets Better Project," in 2011.

He also is a finalist for Men's Health Magazine "2015 Ultimate Men's Health Guy," and, if selected, will be first transgender person on the magazine's cover.

Following Dowling's talk, a reception is planned in Legacy Lounge.

Dowling's presentation is sponsored by LGBTQ Programs, Equity and Diversity Center and the NDSU Pride Alliance.
