Amy Rupiper Taggart, professor of English, and Larry Peterson, director of accreditation, assessment and academic advising, are set to join the NDSU Office of Teaching and Learning in January. Provost Beth Ingram made the announcement Dec. 16.

Rupiper Taggart, who is the former director of general education, will be associate director for the office and will work on pedagogy for general education courses. Peterson will hold the title of director of assessment, and will work with faculty to develop effective assessment methods for their courses.

According to Ingram, Rupiper Taggart will continue her general education leadership, including promoting innovative general education pedagogy and sharing best practices on campus, in addition to managing the National Science Foundation Gateways-North Dakota active learning grant.

Ingram said Peterson will continue his assessment leadership, such as coordinating campus assessment efforts to continuously improve student learning and providing ongoing professional development opportunities related to assessment.
