Carl Dahlen, NDSU beef cattle specialist, has been selected to receive the 2016 Midwest Outstanding Young Extension Specialist Award. He will be honored during the American Society of Animal Science's Midwest Annual Meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, March 14-16.
Dahlen will receive a $500 award and plaque.
Dalen earned his bachelor's degree in animal and plant systems, master's degree in ruminant nutrition and reproductive physiology and doctorate in production systems, all from the University of Minnesota.
