Nostrum named director of residence life

Rian Nostrum has been named director of residence life, according to Michael Harwood, assistant dean of student life. Nostrum will provide leadership and direction to the Department of Residence Life.

Nostrum has been with the department since 1997 in various roles, most recently as associate director of operations. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wyoming and his master’s degree in educational administration from NDSU.

“Rian has provided good leadership in this role as an associate director. He will continue to provide good leadership for the staff and students in his new position,” said Harwood.

Nostrum is a member of Upper Midwest Region – Association of College and University Housing Officers, Association of College and University Housing Officers – International and Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. He serves as president of the State Housing Officers for North Dakota.

Janna Stoskopf, dean of student life, noted, “We were pleased with the caliber and qualifications of all four finalists. Rian is well suited to this new role.”
