The NDSU chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society inducted four faculty as honorary members during its 14th annual induction ceremony Nov. 18. They include Ann Burnett, director of women’s studies; Edward Deckard, professor of plant sciences; Timothy Kloberdanz, associate professor of anthropology; and Cindy Urness, assistant professor of architecture and landscape architecture.

Honorary memberships are presented to individuals who embody the ideals of Golden Key and encourage academic excellence. On Saturday, Feb. 21, the chapter will host a breakfast for honorary members and their families at the University Lutheran Center at 9 a.m.

A total of 44 students also were inducted into the society during the ceremony. Juniors and seniors in the top 15 percent of their respective classes are eligible for membership.

Golden Key International Honour Society was founded in 1977 at Georgia State University. The NDSU chapter was chartered in 1996. Since then, the chapter has received several regional and international awards, including “Best New Chapter,” “Key Chapter,” “Honorable Mention Key Chapter” and “Gold-Level Chapter.”
