SHARE

TJ Leyden, a former recruiter and organizer for the white supremacist movement, is scheduled to present “Turning Away from Hate” on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Union Great Room.

During Leyden's talk, he will share his unique perspective on hate groups in this country. After 15 years as a skinhead, Leyden experienced a profound change of heart, turned away from hate and began teaching tolerance. He has since worked for the Task Force Against Hate at the Simon Wiesenthal Center and has spoken at the Clinton White House Conference on Hate in Washington, D.C. Leyden also has trained members of the Pentagon, FBI, military, law enforcement, educators and more than 800,000 students.
