Gunda Georg, director of the Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development and the McKnight Presidential Chair in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Minnesota, is scheduled to give a presentation on Tuesday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Arikara room.

According to Mukund Sibi, distinguished professor of chemistry and molecular biology, Georg’s seminar topic will be the birth control pill for males. The presentation will provide a review of attitudes concerning male contraception, available methods and the mechanism of action and status of clinical experiences with male hormonal contraception. The second part of the presentation will review examples of non-hormonal approaches to male contraception from the Georg laboratory.

Refreshments will be served 15 minutes before the presentation.

Georg is a member of the External Advisory Board for NDSU’s Center for Protease Research. Sibi is the program director and oversees the operations of the center. Funding for the center is provided by a grant from the National Institutes of Health.
