Two NDSU students have been awarded the 2016-17 NDSU Women's Club Scholarship. Colette Bersie, a junior majoring in marketing and management, and senior instrumental education major Theresa Schlangen were selected from a competitive applicant pool for their academic achievement, leadership and community service. They each receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year. They also will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the NDSU Women's Club.

The students were honored at the organization’s fall event Sept. 12.

Each year, the NDSU Women's Club provides merit-based scholarships to NDSU students based on available funds. Students who are awarded the scholarship meet or exceed the following criteria:

• Cumulative grade point average at NDSU of 3.2 or above at the end of the previous fall semester

• Female student from North Dakota, South Dakota or Minnesota

• Junior or senior status during the upcoming fall semester, regardless of age;

• Excellence in extracurricular involvement, leadership and community service.

The application for the 2017-18 scholarship will be released electronically in early spring and due April 28, 2017. Contact Emily Hagemeister, vice president, at ndstatewomensclub@gmail.com for more information.
