Red River Conference on World Literature set

The 12th annual Red River Conference on World Literature is set for April 17-19 at the NDSU Alumni Center. Sponsored by the Departments of English and Modern Languages, the conference draws regional, national and international scholars who will deliver papers that address the conference theme, “The Narratives of Transgression and Trespass.”

Lucha Corpi, poet and novelist, will deliver the conference keynote address on Friday, April 17, at 4:15 p.m. at the Alumni Center. Corpi’s novels include “Delia’s Song,” “Eulogy for a Brown Angel,” “Cactus Blood,” “Black Widow’s Wardrobe” and “Crimson Moon.” Her poetry is collected in “Variaciones sobre una tempestad (Variations on a Storm)” and “Palabras de mediodia (Noon Words),” with English translations by Catherine Rodriguez Nieto. Corpi’s address, followed by a reception, is free and open to the public.
