NDSU’s Emily Reynolds Historic Costume Collection is scheduled to present “Embellishment,” an exhibit highlighting the decorative details that add design interest to garments. The exhibition is set to be on display Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 31. in the Window Gallery, located in FLC 414.

Featured embellishments include enhancing lace motifs with silk ribbon and silver tinsel embroidery intended to focus attention to the face of the wearer. Dresses worn by Angie Dickinson, Mrs. Lawrence Welk and Patricia Hull Lewis are shown.

A goal of the collection is to provide examples of embellishment and other sewing techniques for research and teaching. The collection is located on the fourth floor of the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Family Life Center.
