NDSU faculty and staff parking permits are on sale

SHARE

NDSU faculty and staff parking permits for 2009-10 are on sale at the parking office in Thorson Maintenance Center.  Permits can be purchased Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The annual parking permit fee is $125. The fee is deducted from the employee’s paycheck starting with the Sept. 15 paycheck. Employees may choose between one deduction of $125 or 10 payroll deductions of equal increments. Faculty and staff permits are non-refundable. Each employee is eligible for one parking permit.

Faculty and staff permits will be distributed only to employees listed on their appropriate departmental allocation list. Permits become valid upon purchase and expire Aug. 15, 2010.

This year, FargoDome daytime parking permits are available at no charge. Information about transit from the FargoDome lot is available at www.ndsu.edu/bus-shuttle. Faculty and staff wanting to forego their department assigned lot are welcome to use this economical alternative.

Each year, NDSU prints more than 3,000 faculty and staff parking permits. After the academic year has ended, these permits find their way to the local landfill. In an effort to support sustainable practices, faculty and staff permits issued during this sale will become “renewable” similar to vehicle license tab renewals. Next year, returning faculty and staff will simply affix a sticker on their present hangtag to renew their permit. To avoid replacement charges, it is important that you save your permit after the 2009-10 academic year.
