Distance and Continuing Education to offer workshop on accommodating students

SHARE

Distance and Continuing Education has planned a workshop titled “Accommodating Students: What Every College Instructor Needs to Know,” for Tuesday, July 14, at 10 a.m. in SGC, room 104.

“Whether you teach online or in a traditional college classroom, chances are high that you will encounter students with disabilities who require accommodations,” says Lyn DeLorme, Distance and Continuing Education instructional designer. “What are your responsibilities in providing the accommodations? How do you facilitate them?”

The workshop will cover the ethical and legal implications for college instructors. It also will include practical tips for a proactive approach to preparing and delivering course curriculum, information and materials in the YouTube era.

There is no cost, but pre-registration is required. To register, or for more information, contact DeLorme, at 1-6371 or lyn.delorme@ndsu.edu. The event also is sponsored by the Office of Disability Services.
